Service Requests

The Hancock Park Homeowners Association works with the City of Los Angeles to address issues with our trees, sidewalks and streetlights, as well as to get graffiti cleaned up.  The mechanism that we use to report and track these issues is the MyLA311 Service Request system.

Residents are encouraged to use the MyLA311 service request (SR) system to enter a new request if there is not an existing one.  They can check for existing SRs using the application or Google sheet described below.

In order to more easily track our Service Requests (SRs), we have:

  • Built an application that allows residents to more easily query the MyLA311 system to look up existing SRs, based on type, street, status, case number, etc.
    • This is helpful to ensure that duplicate SRs are not created, and to see the details of the existing SRs of interest.
    • Using the application requires logging in with an existing Google account, or creating a (free) account (click the Login button, then choose Sign Up)
    • The application has a Help page that provides details on how to use it
    • The application filters out SRs that are not within the boundaries of Hancock Park.
  • Built a mechanism that periodically pulls existing SRs for locations within the borders of Hancock Park into a Google Sheet.
Note - there are some issues with the data in the MyLA311 system - we have discovered
    • Multiple SRs for the same address with conflicting statuses
    • SRs that were resolved still in an open state
    • lack of clarity about what “In Progress” actually means
    • other problems with the data

We have reached out to BSL (the LA Bureau of Street Lighting) via the council district office in the hope of getting these problems resolved.

The Hancock Park Homeowners Association is dedicated to the preservation of Hancock Park
